New Lamps at Louise Bradley

Sometimes, all a room needs is a unique item to complete the design of the space.  In many cases this can often be a statement lamp to soften a room and add interest. The Louise Bradley Rock Crystal and Tassel Lamps do indeed fulfil this purpose, arguably works of art in their own right.

These lamps and many others can be seen in our Brompton Cross Showroom, Kimbolton Court, 117B Fulham Road, London, SW3 6RL, or alternatively contact our Showroom Team on +44207 589 1442 ext 217.

Table Accessories - Books

Accessorisation is essential in making a house feel like a home, and one way of achieving this look is to have your favourite books on display in a living space, such as on a side or coffee table. One of my greatest pleasures is to sit in front of the fire with a beautiful book about design, interiors or fashion.

I have just been to The TASCHEN Book Shop on Sloane Square to browse and buy - I love the Pucci book!

Kings Road Closure

After ten exciting years in our showroom on the King's Road, we have taken the decision to close the store as it doesn't fit with our international expansion plans.  Our furniture and accesssory ranges have grown so much and can be viewed at Kimbolton Court.  We are also developing and expanding our Walton Street showroom in the New Year and will keep you updated with news on that.

We have just launched our new brochure, which showcases the extensive range of Louise Bradley furniture and accessories for the first time.  The brochure is also available online - just go to our website.

I have been travelling extensively over the last few weeks, both in Europe and further afield, and have many wonderful design ideas and new products which will be added to our furniture and accessory ranges in the near future.

V&A –Postmodernism Exhibition

I urge you all to visit the V&A museum for the postmodernism exhibition, which gives the first in-depth survey of art, design and architecture of the 1970s and 1980s. It’s a great way to see how a movement influences all areas of design, and will make for a thought-provoking day out.

New Furniture Collection And Brochure Launch

"Wow" is all we can say about this week. It has been a real whirl wind, what with Decorex and the launch of our new brochure, if that wasn’t enough we showcased our new furniture collection as well. I’m so pleased with how the brochure has all come together so nicely. The furniture collection was incorporated into our new look showroom and really has added another twist.

What better way to celebrate all this than with a party, and party we did for both clients and press. A truly beautiful day was had by all. We love to see everyone here in the showroom, mixing with each other.

The new brochure is in the showrooms now, hot off the press and is full of inspiration.

Paris/Shanghai/Taipei

We have been on a whistle stop tour the last couple of weeks from Paris to Shanghai. It was wonderful to meet with some of the people we work with at the Maison & Objet Paris show and spend time developing new product with them. Soaking up the whole creative buzz that is at the show is always so inspiring, It’s amazing how ideas can snowball from the things around you.

We hopped on a plane from Paris to Shanghai and spent the flight sketching up ideas and brainstorming items we are developing. Arriving in Shanghai is always such a blast with the hustle and bustle of such a wonderful colourful culture. We popped into the furniture expo to see what was on offer and see if we could forge new relationships with other creative’s. I love cities that fuse together historical architecture with futuristic design, I think it stems from our style of mixing classic and contemporary.

Our next stop was Taipei for a meeting to look at an incredible new project that will be outstanding in its field. We love nothing more than getting our teeth into something on this scale as we can truly deliver something remarkable. To work with clients like this is such a privilege our creative team loves nothing more than a challenge and bringing the Louise Bradley style to distant shores.

Thinking outside the box...

Earlier this week we finally got the chance to change around the showrooms, as things have been really busy and it has been tough fitting everything in. When you get all the furniture items and mirrors etc into the room you step back and start the tweaking, adding the all important accessories. It’s this that adds the layers to a scheme. Injecting personality, whilst having fun mixing and matching styles. I love playing with texture, form and colour for dramatic effect. Matching and mismatching objects gives the room character and creates a unique environment.

We are really lucky that we have wonderful collections at hand to play with and create a vision.

The pieces we love at the moment are “BOXES” - we have a variety in different materials, sizes and colours. A grouping set on a console, or a collection placed on a chaise at the base of a bed, adds interest to the room. The textures of shagreen and the rawness of stone boxes with intricate quilted designs carved into them. The bonus is they are practical too and make the perfect home for treasures, be it jewellery, watches or keep sakes. I have been so inspired I took a collection to the country this weekend and added beautiful shagreen ones in the drawing room and penshell ones in the study.

Is it a desk or a dressing table?

We are selling an increasing number of desks and dressing tables from our showrooms. It’s funny how things have changed and as we work more and more from home the desk has become an essential piece of home kit for everyone. In fact, is it a desk or a dressing table? Something so beautiful is being used as both a desk and a dressing table. With all of us favouring iPads and Air Books we don’t require a whole lot of kit for a work space we now require something elegant , comfortable and yet practical. Blending both sleek design and stunning new materials we have added two new items to the collection, the Paris dressing table and the Openshaw desk.

The Paris dressing table

High gloss on walnut, with a great silhouette .The concealed draw is ideal for Powder or Paper!

The Openshaw desk

Chrome detail with embossed "croc" leather.  Mixes the luxury of the embossed leather with the sleekness of Chrome. The Openshaw desk comes in a variety of colours from slate grey to a deep aubergine.

The Paris Dressing table can be seen in the Walton Street showroom and the Openshaw desk is in our Kimbolton Court showroom.

Showroom change at Kimbolton

Louise has installed some new pieces in the showroom at Kimbolton Court. The overall look includes some great new items, with a colour theme of greys and blues running throughout. Beautiful shagreen boxes in grey hues and luxurious hand-made cushions in silvers and blues set the whole scheme off.  It looks so serene and elegant.

We would love to see you all in the showroom so you can get a real feel of just how special this collection is.

A backdrop of trees in silhouette - a selection of  amazing artwork for summer.  The whole showroom has a calm feeling with a focus on cool summer living. Clients have been inspired by what they have seen and love the way everything flows so wonderfully well together.
