The Queen - Art and Image at The National Portrait Gallery

I am very much looking forward to London being at the center of the Jubilee weekend celebrations this weekend, but for a more reflective (and quieter!) way to appreciate our monarch, I may visit 'The Queen - Art and Image' which has opened at the National Portrait Gallery this week.  Spanning the 60 years of her reign, the exhibition consists entirely of portraits of the Queen, ranging from official paintings and photographs, to responses by contemporary artists such as Lucian Freud and Andy Warhol.

Inspired by the metallics seen on the catwalks, Louise has introduced a number of new items in shades of silver, copper and gold. From the silver leaf cabinet (shown) to the new gold bowls and the gaufraged velvet cushions in silver, metallics are perfect for updating any scheme this summer

 

 

The Chelsea Flower Show 2012

As the weather in London finally starts to improve, I am looking forward to this summer in London more than most! 

The Chelsea Flower Show starts "the season" off beautifully and always make me feel excited about the weeks ahead as London is at its best in June.

This year I am particularly looking forward to 'Fresh', a brand new area that showcases modern and inventive gardens.  I am inspired by the colours and have just introduced some touches of citrus green to the showroom at Kimbolton Court!

Sony World Photography Awards Exhibition at Somerset House

A truly fascinating exhibition is currently running at Somerset House - the winning images and runners-up from the Sony World Photography Awards. Featuring international contemporary photography spanning current affairs, portraiture, landscape and fashion, this exhibition is beautiful, challenging and inspirational.
