Masterpiece London

I am looking forward to popping out of the showroom this week to visit Masterpiece London, a wonderful fair in the grounds of Chelsea Hospital specialising in art, antiques and design of the highest calibre. I have never been before and cannot wait to view some of the exhibits, and learn from the world’s leading luminaries in the fields on show.

As it is supposed to be summer and yet the weather in the UK seems determined to stay wet and windy, we thought we would tease you with this very chic pool area from a project we have just completed somewhere rather warmer than here... Enjoy!

Ballgowns at the V&A

If this unseasonal rain continues until the coming weekend I will be making my way to the Fashion Gallery at the V&A, which is currently playing host to an exhibition of some 80 ballgowns chosen to show the development of formal wear from debutante balls to celebrity events. Designers represented include some of my favourites - Alexander McQueen, Erdem and Stella McCartney - and there are royal gowns on display including Princess Diana's 'Elvis Dress'. It should be a great showcase of British design talent!

The Vienna Ottoman

Here at Louise Bradley we adore anything that adds a touch of classic style and a pop of colour to a room - which is why the Vienna Ottoman (pictured) is one of our favourite pieces. Deep buttoning and luxurious fabric make this a real focal point, and the vibrant colour then draws in hints of deep purples and reds scattered around the room.
The Vienna Ottoman an be viewed at our Kimbolton Showroom, our Walton Street shop and on our website - www.louisebradley.co.uk

The Queen - Art and Image at The National Portrait Gallery

I am very much looking forward to London being at the center of the Jubilee weekend celebrations this weekend, but for a more reflective (and quieter!) way to appreciate our monarch, I may visit 'The Queen - Art and Image' which has opened at the National Portrait Gallery this week.  Spanning the 60 years of her reign, the exhibition consists entirely of portraits of the Queen, ranging from official paintings and photographs, to responses by contemporary artists such as Lucian Freud and Andy Warhol.
